Adopt-a-Family for Christmas

Thanks to the generosity of our corporate and individual partners, we provide Christmas/holiday presents for children in need. Over the past 25 years, we’ve supported an average of 450 children per year. In 2022, our Santa’s Helpers made sure 535 children in Henderson County had something amazing to open at their holiday celebration!

Families that register with the Volunteer and Information Center do not receive help from other community Christmas programs. We also require one adult per family to take and complete our financial literacy program called Bank On.

It’s important to note that our program includes every child in the family. That includes teenagers through their senior year of high school! Very few gift programs in our community allow children over the age of 12 to participate. We know big kids need presents, too, and thank our community for including them.

Sign up to be a Santa's Helper

Employee groups, civic and social clubs, and individual families can sign up to be a Santa’s Helper. If you want to make sure local kids aren’t left out this holiday season, please complete the form below so we can connect you with a family (or families) in need.

Santa’s Helper Responsibilities

Shopping: Purchase 3 or 4 fun items and 1 or 2 clothing items for each child. Avoid bicycles, extra-large, and bulky items. Do not spend more than $100 per child.

Wrapping: Wrap each gift individually and label the outside of the package with the child’s name. Place all the gifts into large, BLACK plastic bags. Label the outside of the bags with the parent’s first and last name.

Delivery: You will receive a message with detailed instructions on when, where, and how to deliver the presents.
